Helen Keller 1880-1968

Helen Keller was an American author, political activist, and lecturer. She was the first deaf-blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. Keller learned to speak, was proficient at reading braille and reading sign language with her hands.  She was well-traveled and outspoken in her convictions, giving speeches worldwide. A member of the Socialist Party of America and the World she campaigned for women’s suffrage, labor rights, socialism, antimilitarism, and was an advocate for people with disabilities. #WomenOnUSPaper$
